Colleen and I have known each other since kindergarten. Through the magic of the internet, we’ve stayed in contact with each other over the last twelve years (hey, I’m old) since high school. I was thrilled when her and Ben got engaged, I was double thrilled when they talked to me about shooting their wedding. It’s not very often that I get to shoot weddings for people that I know so well. Colleen was as beautiful, wonderful and fun on her wedding day as she was when we were 15. Ben is obviously a wonderful guy to land a girl like that. I most certainly wish these two a long and happy life together, although I don’t think they need any wishes to make that happen.

Scarlett and Tyler are two amazing people. You can tell that they’re genuine, honest and loving people from the second you meet them. I knew this wedding was going to be a good one because of that. I don’t think I’ve ever been to a happier and more meaningful wedding. These guys are destined for a long, wonderful life together.
Heeeyo, Kayla and Joel! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a couple and their friends have so much fun at a wedding. Like, an insane amount of fun. Everyone had a sense of humor, everyone was in a good mood. These guys set out to throw an unforgettable celebration for their friends and family and they succeeded. And while the fun was non-stop, the sweet moments, teary eyes, and meaningfulness of the day was still present. Kayla and Joel are two wonderful people and this is their wedding:
Linnea and Tyler fall into the “I’m a better person for having met them” category in life. They are genuine, genuine people. I was welcomed into this wedding as a friend. You can see how warm and happy these guys were the whole day and how much they love their daughter, family and friends. I think I cried at least once, maybe four times, during the day. (Having a child permanently altered my resistance against sentimentality.) I say it all the time when meeting couples but I’ll publicly declare it here again: Your wedding isn’t beautiful because of the dress and the decorations and the details. Those are the things that make it pretty. It’s beautiful because of you and the people you love that surround you on that day.
Oh man, oh man. Where to start with these guys. Well, they’re a gorgeous couple. And they’re just as sweet and wonderful as they are good looking. Everything about this day was so spectacular. I’m going to stop trying to put into words what I want to tell you and I’ll just show you. I’ll show you with this giant blog post below. I hope I don’t break the internet with this one.
This time around I was accompanied by the lovelier half (no offense Jameson) of Hooton Images, Heather. Independently, those two are awesome photographers. Together, they’ll blow your mind. True story.
Leah and John were recently married in Lincoln! She was a gooooorgeous bride, he was a hansome groom. They made my job easy.
Oh, man. Oh, man. There isn’t really much to say that the photos can’t say better. Dana and Joey are adorable. Their wedding was gorgeous. Everything from the church to the dress to the reception details were just out-of-the-park awesome.
I was so lucky to have the ridiculously talented Jameson of Hooton Images to shoot this wedding with me. I don’t want to say that the Hootons are amazing and you should go look at their work, because then you might not come back to this blog once you’re enraptured with them. But seriously. The Hootons are amazing.
Lana and Brad won the July weather lottery and had the most incredible day of all time. No one broke a sweat while standing outside. How unusual is that? Weather aside, Lana and Brad were just as incredible. Smiles, tears, stories of a wee bit too much celebrating the night before… It was a fun day.
Second shot with Jennie Davis Photography. Per the norm. 🙂 I spy one of her classic silhouette shots below…
Molly and Dewey recently celebrated their wedding Creighton-style in downtown Omaha. They were married at the gorgeous St. John’s, partied at The Jay, visited Billy the Bluejay, and celebrated with all their friends and family at the Centurylink. Molly was one of the most classic looking brides I’ve ever seen – is this 2013 or 1913? Doesn’t matter. She still looks stunning.
As always, big ole YOU ARE THE BEST to Jennie Davis Photography for shooting this one with me.
Alyssa and Zach were married recently at Platte River State Park with their reception in nearby South Bend. I had never been to South Bend before and holy mother. Can someone please book their reception at Round The Bend Steakhouse so I can go back? The view from the parking lot alone is worth having your wedding there.
Zach was probably one of the shiest guys I’ve ever worked with. I don’t say that to poke fun in any way, it’s just an honest statement that everyone in the wedding party agreed with. But even Zach, a true “I don’t like having my picture taken” kind of guy, is beaming in these photos. It was an absolutely beautiful day, Alyssa was an absolutely beautiful bride, and I’m absolutely thankful that they chose me to shoot this wedding.
