Shanda and Mike’s Small Town Nebraska Wedding | Nebraska Wedding Photographer

Shanda and Mike’s Small Town Nebraska Wedding | Nebraska Wedding Photographer

Recently, my pal and studio partner, Shanda, married her main squeeze, Mike, in a small ceremony in Decatur, Nebraska. To say it was nerve-wracking shooting another photographer’s wedding is an understatement. A big understatement. But once you get past the nerves, it’s a lot of fun working with friends. We laughed (mostly at me), shared some moments, and enjoyed the gorgeous day.

Congrats Mike and Shanda!

Kimberly and Travis’s St. Wenceslaus and Tiburon Wedding | Omaha Wedding Photographer

Oh, man. I’m feeling sappy this morning. (Blogging a wedding + listening to “I And Love And You” is not a good idea.)

I’ve been shooting a steady stream of weddings for people who are equal parts wonderful and good looking. I don’t know where all these hot and charming couples are coming from but I like it. Kimberly and Travis most definitely fit into that category. I mean, look at them. And they’re sweet on top of it all, and their friends and family love them dearly, and Kimberly has the cutest nickname ever for Travis… This day was so amazing. Let’s go do it again sometime soon, okay? Absolutely the best wishes to them forever and always!

And thank yoooooou Jennie Davis Photography. You know no wedding is complete without her, right? And that silhouette shot? Money.

Jesse and Brooke’s Beemer, Nebraska Wedding | Nebraska Wedding Photographer

Jesse and Brooke’s Beemer, Nebraska Wedding | Nebraska Wedding Photographer

Oh, man. Small towns really know how to get the job done when it comes to weddings. On top of everyone being so wonderful, they threw an amazing party and had the most fun I’ve ever seen go down at a wedding. Even a little bit of rain didn’t stop the show. And at the risk of sounding like a creepy old lady… there are some cute single boys in Beemer. (So girls, find yourself a Beemer boy, get engaged, and then call me.)

Shot with the help of small town girl herself, Jennie Davis Photography. She likewise knows how to get the job done. 🙂

Super big time congratulations to Jesse and Brooke!

Traci and Eric’s Downtown Hilton Wedding | Omaha Wedding Photographer

Traci and Eric kicked off 2014’s weddingpalooza. And they kicked it off in style. They were married and celebrated at Omaha’s downtown Hilton. Everything is gorgeous there from the killer suites to the gorgeous ballrooms. Also gorgeous: Traci. She was a knockout. If this was only the beginning, then 2014 is going to shape up to be an incredible year.

This also begins the regular shout outs to second shooter extraordinaire Jennie Davis Photography. You get it, girl.

Sarah and Tom’s At-Home Wedding | Omaha Wedding Photographer

Sarah and Tom’s At-Home Wedding | Omaha Wedding Photographer

Sarah and Tom were my last wedding of the 2013 season even though they were technically my first wedding of 2014. They were married on January 4th at their house with their close family and friends. We were planning a snowy trip to the Old Market for some beautiful photos after the ceremony, but when you have the unique distinction of being married in a Polar Vortex, sometimes plans change. They had the most amazing backup plan though: Josyln Art Museum. Umm. Nothing wrong with that. Then it was off to Charlie’s On The Lake for a reception in their brand new banquet room. Omaha, take note: This is all-around an amazing idea. That room is so awesome. It photographs well and is beautiful. Not to mention their food is dynamite. And we all know that I’m only in this for the food. (And cake.)

Oh, and Tom and his mom had their mother/son dance to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles theme song. Which is unbelievably cool.

Emily and Adam’s Happy Fall Wedding | Lincoln Wedding Photographer

Emily and Adam and definitely two of the happiest people I’ve ever met. We first chatted over Skype so I had no idea how illuminated these two are in each others’ presence until we met to shoot their engagement photos. Their wedding day was no different. From their first look until the last dances at the reception, they didn’t stop smiling. They are truly inspirational people and I feel my life is better for having met them.

Huge thank you to the lovely and wonderful and talented Trin Jensen for shooting Emily and Adam’s wedding with me!

Shannon and Spencer’s Personalized Zoo Wedding | Omaha Wedding Photographer

Shannon and Spencer’s wedding day was one of those days. You know, those days. Everything was perfect, everyone was happy, it was a blast. They knocked it out of the park with personalized details and meaningful touches everywhere. We started the day at the Embassy Suites downtown, spent some time in the Old Market, and then headed to the zoo to explore, take photos and eat hot dogs. And of course, get married. 🙂

Amber and Peter’s Henry Doorly Zoo Wedding | Omaha Wedding Photographer

Amber and Peter’s Henry Doorly Zoo Wedding | Omaha Wedding Photographer

Everyone should have their reception at the zoo. Period. If I could do it all over again, this is where I would get hitched. In the Fall, among the bongos and fish. It doesn’t get any more picture perfect. OH WAIT. Yes it does. You can toss in lovely Amber and Peter and the perfection is multiplied times 1,000,000.

And a world of thank yous to Heather from Hooton Images for second shooting this one with me. 🙂

Carrie and Matt’s Gorgeous Fall Wedding | Omaha Wedding Photographer

Carrie and Matt’s Gorgeous Fall Wedding | Omaha Wedding Photographer

Carrie and Matt’s wedding kept up the winning streak of amazing October weddings. Why can’t it be October all year round? The details were gorgeous! And, ahem. So was the bride.  I really loved how sweet these two are together. Matt is a quieter kind of guy, but you can tell he loves Carrie to pieces.
