Oh hey, look who it is. One of my favorite bands and overall groups of people. Pay no mind to the fact that I’m related to 1/3 of the people in this photo. If you’re in Omaha, catch them at the Omaha Community Playhouse. And if not, catch them on their upcoming tour starting in January!

If you’ve ever met me, it’s no surprise that I love me some Stevie Nicks. When I get dressed in the morning, I look at myself and ask, “Would Stevie wear this?” (Well no, because Stevie probably isn’t shopping at Target and Forever 21 but you know what I’m going for.) She is a rock goddess and I love her. You know who else loves her some Stevie? My talented hair and makeup stylist buddy, Becky Grey. We teamed up for a shoot with the goooorgeous Megan. She takes directions like, “Spin around and dance like you’re at a concert and on drugs,” and she makes them look like real directions.

Aaron is a friend of mine who is about to head to L.A. to film a second season of his web series, ReStrung. He’s a musician, writer, actor, comedian, modern day Renaissance man. It’s always a good time hanging out with Aaron.
I spent a few days in Shreveport, LA this week for a photography workshop. (I’ll blog some photos from the workshop later.) I had a day of free time before the workshop started so I spent some time wandering around with a friend. We came across a cemetery founded in the 1850s. It was beautiful in it’s ruin and silence. The one thing that struck me the most while there was a memorial engraved with:
The joys of meeting pay the pangs of absence: Else who could bear it
One of my favorite things to do is head shot/portrait sessions for creatives. I have the pleasure of knowing a few musicians around town and it’s always a great time having them in the studio. It’s like a creative punch to the arm.
Well, hello. Lovely Tara stopped by for a few new promotional shots for her various (and successful) musical endeavors. I confessed to her immediately that I was incredibly nervous to be photographing her. So like any true professional, I got out a bottle of wine and forced her drink a glass with me. She didn’t put up much of a fight, I’m just sayin.
This vintage maven is Kori. I approached her with the idea for a shoot inspired by E.J. Bellocq. (NSFW) Kori takes all the credit for styling this shoot (she’s wearing her wedding dress!) and making it come to life.
Doesn’t she look just like Bettie Davis?
