Hellooooooo gorgeous family. You wouldn’t know it but we took these on a blisteringly hot, late autumn day. You take what Nebraska gives you, I guess. I’m in love with out casual and cool and perfectly dressed this clan is. But considering Becky is a crazy talented stylist and one of the coolest chicks of all time, it’s not a surprise.

Whoa. It’s March. What happened to the winter? Don’t get me wrong, I am not complaining that it’s no longer 5 degrees outside and that the world isn’t completely gray. But I’m shocked that here we are again, back on the cusp of wedding season, family season, senior season. The winter is always a wonderful chance for me to slow things down a bit and spend more time at home with my family. Unfortunately, once I’m out of the routine of shooting and editing, I also fall out of the routine of blogging! Now that Spring is back and my year is gearing up, I’ve got all these awesome sessions that I need to share!
Starting with: The Y Family
I adore this family. I shot Maggie and Seth’s wedding a few years ago and I’ve been so lucky to have them come back several times for photos since. Aren’t they the most beautiful family you’ve ever seen?
It’s one of my favorite families again! Every time they come in, we do at least a few shots with something Superman in them. I’m not sure it started out as intentional, but now it’s kind of a given. This time we also added some Captain America and a rain puddle. Heart.
It’s so, so nice outside. It’s photography season again! There’s “so cold your boogers freeze season” and then there’s “photography season.” Weddings are starting up, spring sessions are being booked, life generally looks promising again. (It’s daylight after 5pm! I can walk barefoot on the hardwood!)
If you couldn’t tell, this is my gentle and shameless plug to contact me if you want to get something in the calendar.
The Y family was one of my last in 2014 before the leaves fell and it was sooooo gorgeous. Color, smiles, warm fall weather… Just the best.
I went to high school with these two (doesn’t matter what decade that was) and sort of “reunited” with Naomi a few years ago through photography. I was super excited when she asked me to shoot their family photos this year. And for those who know me, my “super excitement” usually translates into sweating and awkwardly talking to myself while shooting. But these guys were fun and funny and so awesome.
Tis the time of year when everyone needs family photos. Everyone. Including other photographers. So tis also the time of year for panicking and sweating profusely when said photographers call you up and make an appointment. (Especially the talented and beautiful ones. They’re the scariest.)
I absolutely adore this family and am I stinking happy that I finally got to meet them in the real word and not just internet land.
